Honda CR110 piston
Reproduction project

I want keep my CR110 working. But we can not obtain some parts. Above all, we need the engine parts. Most wear parts is piston and piston-ring. We make up my mind to make a piston.


PISTON

Although CR110 was made in a short period, there are many kinds piston. Early, middle, and latest. Each piston doesn't fit another type engine. We decide to make the latest type piston. Also we decide to the details of the piston. The piston which fit the larest engine is RC111 type and the piston installed latest CR110. Compared with two pistons, latest type has improved. I will make latest type piston. It's fit the latest 8speed CR110.

Largest problem is estimate.

Broken piston

After Time Tunnel in 2001, we overhauled CR110 engine. To our surprise we found broken piston in it. I have not some spares. We looked for the piston for sale. But we could not find it. Nobody want to disposed it. We must reproduce the piston by ourself.

I asked Naito & Co , and he helped me. We thought and thought that we make what type piston. Last problem is we must choose between RC111 or latest CR110. We decided we reproduce latest CR110 piston.

Finally we completed reproduce CR110 piston. in 2002 spring.

Also we arranged piston-pin and piston-pin clip. Next problem is how can we come by piston-rings. We contacted a CR110 enthusiast. He have some piston-ring of CR110. We bartered my pistons for piston-rings. As we made only small number pistons, cost a great deal. But I have some pistons in my hand yet. I will be able to bartere another parts of CR110.


Already we installed this piston in my CR110 engine. I will test in 25/Jun.
